The exterior of a house is doing two jobs at once: it is the first thing anyone sees, and it is the barrier keeping weather out of the structure. Work that improves only the appearance while leaving the envelope compromised is money spent twice.
We look at flashing, drainage, insulation and ventilation alongside the finish materials, because in a climate that swings from humid summers to freeze-thaw winters, the detailing behind the cladding is what determines how long the cladding lasts.

Common questions
- Can exterior work be done over winter?
- Much of it, yes. Siding and window replacement continue through the cold months. Masonry, mortar and most coatings have minimum temperature requirements, so we schedule those for the shoulder seasons rather than forcing them.
- Will new siding make the house warmer?
- Only if insulation goes in with it. Siding alone is a rain screen, not a thermal layer. Adding continuous exterior insulation during a re-clad is the single best opportunity you will get to improve the envelope.
- Do we need a permit?
- Like-for-like siding replacement generally does not. Changing window openings, structural elements or adding a porch does. We confirm it against your specific scope rather than guessing.
